Our bird safe candles are 100% beeswax with no additives, artificial colors, fragrances or fillers. They are also lead-free and use 100% cotton wicks. Beeswax is clean burning and does not produce toxic fumes or soot. Beeswax is hypo-allergenic, and is recommended for sensitive people and for sensitive pets. Birds in particular are very sensitive to the smoke and soot produced by petroleum-based paraffin candles.
‘The Birds and The Bees’ bird safe candles have a natural honey aroma and color. They are the longest burning candles and they are smoke and soot free, dripless and hypo-allergenic.
General Tips:
Trim wicks to 3/8" before first use. Wicks should not need to be cut again after burning. A burned wick is very fragile when extinguished and should not be touched.
If a candle flame becomes very
large, extinguish, check wick length and trim to 1/2-inch while the
wick is still warm.
If a candle begins to drip, extinguish and re-light when cooled.
Candles burned in a strong draft may burn unevenly and drip.
Safety Although
"The Birds and The Bees" candles give out a beautiful and peaceful
light and a delicate sweet scent, they are aflame and must be attended
to and used properly to assure safety.
Always
burn candles in a proper sized heat-proof holder. Keep candles away
from drafts and in a location that cannot be reached by your bird,
other pets or children. Make sure that there is nothing near the flame
that could catch fire, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
Keep a fire extinguisher on hand.
